Ryobi 18V Frankencooler, Blowbox, and Blowbox TWIN
After years of requests, I have finally introduced Ryobi-powered Blowbox TWIN Component Packages as well as a Ryobi-powered Frankencooler Major Component Package for fans of my original Frankencooler ice chest-based design. I am also now offering built Ryobi-powered Blowbox TWIN units for those who don’t have the time/inclination to assemble one.
Note: Even the larger Ryobi batteries are only good for around 2 hrs runtime when powering dual blower coolers so you’ll need multiple batteries for longer runtimes.
First Blowbox TWIN powered by a Ryobi 18V lithium battery. It was way too windy to test outdoors. The temperature in the garage was 87 degrees, outflow temps were low 30s 🙂
Complete Component Packages Extended!
Including the odds-n-ends needed to complete the Blowbox and Blowbox TWIN proved to be a big success, so I’m going to continue this promotion until further notice : )
Included with every Blowbox and Blowbox TWIN Component Package will be an additional bag with wiring, an assortment of wire connectors, stainless screws, and zip ties – everything* needed to complete these models, all at no extra charge.
*Blowbox adapters may require silicone sealer/glue gun glue to seal them against radiators – these are not included. Blowbox TWIN adapters usually do not require sealing.
Blowbox TWIN Mounted To 30 QT Igloo
I recorded this video before putting this unit into full-time use. Here’s some clarifications: – The 12Ah battery I am using provides a runtime of approximately 1.75 – 2 hours at full power. The Igloo 30 Qt cooler holds 2 – 10 lb blocks of ice providing approximately 2 hours of maximum cooling.
Built Blowbox TWINs
Over the last two years, the Blowbox TWIN has become by far my most popular model. Most individuals purchase the component package, but some would rather pay extra for a built, tested unit.
Please note that if you are handy, paying me $200 to build one of these is a total waste of money as it is not that difficult, but if you are not, it’s likely money well spent : )
Because I have neither time nor space to build these units for stock, I am now offering built Blowbox TWINs and Blowbox TWINs w/wireless remote by order only.
While my turnaround is usually a day or two, I ask that you allow 4 business days for construction and testing as I am very busy this time of year.
My customers include numerous pilots (even several small charter airlines), pet delivery companies, private investigators, long-haul truckers, sports families, campers, commercial fishing boats, classic car owners, and more. These things are ugly but they work 🙂
